The Most Frustrating Thing About WordPress

Today I answered the annual WordPress survey. You should do so to!

In the text area for what frustrates me the most about WordPress, here’s what I wrote:

“That each page only has one content area. Would be great if WordPress could offer a better solution than custom fields for that. More like concrete5 or PageLines DMS. Divi even. A standardized solution, so that DMS, Divi, Headway and similar solutions can be more interchangeable, without losing content from custom fields, shortcodes and custom content blocks. Essentially a standardized page building framework built-in, that theme developers and designers can hook into!”

Well… Whaddya think? Agree? Disagree? Why? Share it with the world – comment! The world needs a better WordPress in this (single… content…) area! So many people use WordPress as a CMS. Let’s make it act like one!

I agree with you – Page Content is now “the weakest spot”. Therefore we bought MotoPress to use it in combination with Headway and we are very happy with it, although it has some bugs which Author is correcting upon our report (after intensive testings). It really shorten the process of building pages content in Headway 🙂

Thanks for reporting that, Ivica. Good to hear MotoPress works well with Headway.

Yet, what I’m calling for here, is a standardised, native WordPress solution. One that’s integrated in WordPress core.
