WordPress Hosting

WP Engine (read WebMatros review)
WP Engine offers “managed hosting” of WordPress websites. It means that they take care of everything for you, including optimisation, backup and updates. In many ways, WP Engine are the pioneers of WordPress hosting.

Media Temple (gs) Grid hosting (read WebMatros review)
I have been a Media Temple (gs) Grid customer since 2007. When I’ve tried other hosts, I’ve always ended up going back to Media Temple. Why? Great, competent support and stability at an affordable price. Their Grid is a unique offering – loved by some, hated by others. Me? I love it. Read my comprehensive review for more info »

Media Temple (wp) managed WordPress hosting (read WebMatros review)
Media Temple also offers WordPress-specific hosting, installed, cached and optimised; just like WP Engine. There are differences though! Read the epic WebMatros speed comparison here »

Pagely WordPress & WooCommerce hosting
Pagely is higher priced than WP Engine & Media Temple above, but by some held in even higher regard. Especially if you’re looking for the absolutely best hosting for WooCommerce.

Membership Website Platforms

Rainmaker (read WebMatros review)
Built on WordPress, Rainmaker is a hosted membership website platform, tailor-made (by Copyblogger) to make publishing, marketing and selling your knowledge easier. In spring 2015 WebMatros was moved to Rainmaker. So far I’m pleased – and so relieved not having to deal with plugin issues and other woes of maintaining a “home-made” WooCommerce/EDD concoction. Rainmaker is content marketing in a box. Hubspot for the rest of us:)

If you already have an existing website – but would like to simply (very simply… it’s Simplero after all) add a membership area, or sell access to your seminars, workshops or a mastermind group: Simplero may be the answer. I’ve met Calvin the founder on several occasions, done his moms website (she’s an artist and gallerist) and can wholeheartedly vouch for the enormous amount of passion he puts into Simplero. It’s a labour of pure love.

Dynamik Website Builder (read WebMatros review)
Dynamik requires the Genesis framework, as it’s essentially the world’s most advanced Genesis child theme. It lets you design your Genesis theme using a comprehensive design control panel. Also works great with Beaver Builder below!

Organic Themes
Organic Themes are all about quality. If you’re looking for ready-made premium themes that brand you in a big, bold yet simple way: Go Organic!

Beaver Builder (read WebMatros review)
Both a plugin and a theme, Beaver Builder is the best page builder on the market. Wonderfully clean UI, and it doesn’t even leave a mess if you stop using it!

WordPress Plugins

Gravity Forms
If there’s one plugin that has never caused me any trouble, on dozens upon dozens of WordPress sites: it’s Gravity Forms. By far one of the most versatile, useful and handy WordPress plugins available. It’s not just for contact forms. Using its add-ons, you can create feedback-forms, surveys, accept payments, and much much more!
