As you may already know by now, I’m a big fan of the ultra unique and super slick Headway Theme framework. It is fast, efficient and elegant, both when considering its codebase as well as the end results you can create with it.
But everything – including the Headway theme – has a slight learning curve. I personally find Headway to be quite intuitive, but many of you are asking for Headway tutorial videos, to show you how to use Headway to your full advantage.
First off, watch this fine Headway video if you haven’t already:
Below you’ll find lots and lots of Headway tutorial videos specifically made for the Headway theme, to keep you entertained and engaged for hours!
NOTE: The latest videos are presented first in each list!

What do you think?
So there you have it!
Headway tutorial videos galore, to help you get going with the revolution, that is: Headway.
If I know what are the difference between the above videos and those in your paid subscription course? I have recently subscribed into one but was not pleased with the video tutorial presented. There was no structure to the proper sequential way to learning and master Headway. I would like to see tutorials that go to explain and teach the use of each feature that are in the option box for each element – header, navigation, content etc in the visual editor and design editor.
I would also like to see tutorial that teaches by selecting sample existing websites site that stand out for their specific features such as layout and design types for headers, navbars (horizontal, vertical including menus that seem to embed on headers), content and footer.
Do you allow a peek into your tutorials before subscribing?
Hey Aloysius Tan
I’m glad you’re asking! My course is VERY sequential! I wanted to make sure it took the user by hand, step-by-step, from a-z, beginner to confident, proficient Headway user. In other words: from zero to hero.
I currently don’t have a demo/trial available, but it’s in my plans to make it easier to get a good grasp of the course structure, before purchase.
I do offer a 30-day refund on the yearly subscription though. Abd you can cancel both the monthly and yearly subscription anytime you wish.
Response from participants has been overwhelmingly positive so far. Still lots of room for improvement though:) And it will only become better and better in the coming months!
So please, give it a try. I’d love to have you aboard:)
PS: I looked at your website. “Hear From The Voice of Authenticity” is right down my alley. Will definitely read the “deep sleep” and “stomach massage” articles.
Oliver
Olivier, thanks for your reply and the assurance of refund. But really, the issue for most of us is time saved from a smarter way to learn headway.
I think most of us new to Headway could learn fairly quickly from having each tutorial select a nicely layout and design site. And then teaching how to duplicate the same site using headway.
I prefer this approach of learning by duplicating good design sites to those tutorials currently available teaching how to use headway features.
Alternatively, tutorials can also be developed such that we learn from duplicating parts of a selected site.
For example, a number of sites selected for their varied headers (e.g, headers with navbar below, headers with header on right).
Likewise tutorials for varied design footers, sidebars – all these learning from modeling other websites.
Above all, whichever the approach, what I find frustrating are the delivery of the tutorials. Presenters forget most learners’ native language aren’t English. Presenters tend to speak too fast. In addition, and this is important, presenters tend to assume learners know and understand all the features on the panel that allows configuring and modifying headers, navbar, sidebars, footers etc.
They limit illustrations and explainations to those relevant features that they use to make changes to e.g header. to correspond to a model site header.
This is why despite buying Headway and looking into the YouTube videos and Headway documentation and Forums for 2 weeks, I can tell many users will struggle with it.
Believe me, the drag and draw site builders outside of the WordPress’s platform of frames and themes are easier to master.
Hey Aloysius
Very good input, which I’ll remember in my future lesson planning.
My course is case-based. I’ve constructed a case, where each lessons knowledge builds peoples skills, one step at a time. And feature-wise, it’s based on how most of the client-sites I do (for small-businesses, mostly within the coaching / service-professional segment.
I focus a lot on learning objectives, and avoiding jargon. It’s far from perfect, but I’m striving and will continue to evolve it and improve!
Which drag’n’drop site builders outside of the WordPress-world do you think of in particular? Just curious.
I am presently testing out Weebly. For WordPress, I am looking into Divi Elegant’s builder – more drag than draw layout. I am quite impressed by the ease of use as demonstrated on their 2 hour video YouTube video “how to build a site from scratch”.
Hey Aloysius
I haven’t looked at Weebly but plan to do so. Been too busy:)
Divi is impressive, but not as flexible as Headway. That’s not necessarily bad though. Depends on ones individual needs. No need to introduce more flexibility if it isn’t needed. That will just bring unnecessary complexity to the project.
=)
Oliver
OMG! Totally THANK YOU for this! This is exactly what I need to help me design my website with Headway. I am totally website developer illiterate. This will help so much. I wish I found this months ago. I signed up for your newsletter so I can get your new course as well. I can’t wait to get my hands on that. I’ll pay a fee if you can release it faster! Hehe! I need to work on my website like yesterday. Anyways, thanks again. Also, do you offer consulting services in case someone has a question or can’t figure something out even with the above tutorials and your course? Thanks!!
I do also offer consulting services, mostly to local (danish) clients though. But that may change.
Look forward to the course, it’s gonna be rockin! And ready soon;)
This is great! I bought HW a couple weeks ago and have found the documentation very sparse and not very good. This is a great roundup of pretty much everything I’ve seen plus a little more – and all in one place. I also REALLY appreciate that most of the videos have titles that let you know what version they are about. This is really helpful. There are a lot of tutorials for older versions of HW and it’s usually a waste of time to view those. So great job collecting and identifying these! Thanks a lot!
Thanks Craig! Glad the collection is useful to you.
Stay tuned, more Headway goodies will follow soon, right here on my site.
Merry christmas!
Oliver
